Just got a mini-history of Ireland and did a search on Cianachts because it was said that they fought bravely under Brian Boru. Cool website...I have been told my family is from Sligo, but the eldest I know are my grandparents Raymond J. Carroll and Grace Carroll (Collins) from Chicago (both deceased). I grew up in Chicago and now live in Phoenix.  

I am researching O'Carroll family history I have a good friend who is an O'Carrol and whose family moved to Mississippi..He wants to know all he can about his family.

Hi, I live in Melbourne Australia, of Irish/Italian parents. Oddly enough my father is Italian, so my surname "Cian" (pronounced chian) is Italian. He came from a Northern Italian city, not far from Venice. Do you know if there is a connection between our names?

My dad was a Sterling and my mom was a Carroll. Carroll family are from Ireland and the Sterling family are from Scotland. That makes me Scotch-Irish. I love your site.
