Am searching for parents of Anne (Nancy) CARROLL, born 1794, Surrattsville, Prince Geo.Co., Maryland...married Clement Hill BROOKE in 1817 in Wash. DC. Also am related to Charles Carroll of Carrollton through the BROOKE line. 

Michael Carroll of Queens County, Laois was my Grandfather. I am hoping that through the genealogical links on this website that I can find more info about my ancestors. Michael was born in 1800 near Borris-in-Ossory.

We on the west coast of California feel a great loss in our hearts because of the attack on our people in New York. We feel and understand that the pain can be shouldered in time and that as a nation of many different types of people we will recover and be greater. This is not a wake up call, we have never been asleep.

As an Irish American I have never liked the taking of non-combatants lives and never will. This insult to freedom, to my country, is just that an insult. We are a country of people who gathered to have freedom not to take freedom from others.

In closing remember we are a country made up of the very best the world has to offer. Noirin and I join our nation in prayer for the loss of life this last week. Noirin wants us to remember a quote from the movie Braveheart

"They can take our lives, but they can never take our FREEDOM!"

Was informed of clan Cian at a Scotish festival in Colorado. Knew about the Butlers, but not the Cian affiliation.  

Whow! we had a great time at the Clan Cian Tent at the Caledonia Scottish Highland Games (Pleasanton, California) last week end. Lots of people and food. James Boyd can really lay out a table.
The Chief, Elie O'Carroll and the Tanist, Fred O'Carroll and familiy were there along with many many other clan members. Heck the tent always had at least 10 people in it. That is not all, the nights where full also with the rich music of the pipes of Scott Pedon, who played many Irish tunes to tap ones foot to.
I want to wish all the happiness to all those who dropped by and said hi. As I reflect back on the moon filled nights and the sun drinched days of last weekend I am thankful for having been born of Irish blood and wisdom, and thankfull for having found Clan Cian.

I talked with Charles Lamb this weekend at the Black Hills Highland Festival. He told me about this web site. I have been looking into my families past history, which leads right to Ely O'Carroll Country if my grandfather's records are correct.

I am most happy and honored to be of the Carroll family and will fill out an application to the Clan Cian as soon as possible.
