Noirin and I(Seamus)will be at the Highland Games & Celtic Festival Saturday and Sunday, August 3rd and 4th, 2002. http://www.montereyscotgames.com/ Located in Toro Park just 6 miles south of Salinas, CA on highway 68. It is called Monterey Highland Games & Celtic Festival. It will be held in the beautiful setting of Toro County Park, which is nestled in the hills between Salinas and the Monterey Peninsula. It is located six miles south from downtown Salinas on Highway 68 (which is South Main St. in Salinas) and 13 miles from the Monterey Peninsula. It is a two day game. The two Irish clans in which we have tents are Clan Cian(O'Carroll) and Clan O'Brien. Noreen and I will be there setting up on Friday and will be there both days from opening to closing.
Saturday night there will be a BBQ at our home for everyone who is hungry or who just wants to talk. All are welcome. Heck bring something to share(friendship is always nice) and if you do not eat meat come anyway for the Salinas valley is the lettuce bowl of the world. No pun intended. So we will see you there. Also check the Highland Festivals scheduled on the Cian Calendar of events page for the other games we will be at.

Learning about the history of my name is pretty amazing! Someday I hope to visit the land that long ago was home to my family. There are many Carroll's here in Indiana, but I never could have believed how many there are all over the world. Thanks! 

We are part of the clan! Alysha and I are cousins. Our great-grandparents, Michael and Susan Carroll (maiden-name Dunne) both immigrated from County Cavan, Ireland. They moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the US in the late 1800's - early 1900's. We are trying to find out more about them. The rest of our family resides in Philadelphia to this day, but we both live west of Philadelphia. If any information is known about our great-grandparents, please contact either one of us (or both). My Mother was Dora (Rilla) Carroll dau. of Walter Albert Carroll & Josie Adair. They settled in Paulding County Georgia (USA) and lived on Carroll Creek. a few members of the family lived in neighboring Carroll County Georgia. I beleive their family came from Louth Ireland. Any info. appreciated.

I would like some information on how to trace my family, with a lot of repeated names and no Sr, Jr, or numbers behind them. Also I only know the first name of the woman that married my Great Grandfather. I can make some guess as to time frame, due to age of my grandfather. I really do not have much to go on. I do know my grandfather was the first generation born in the US. Any one out there that has a bit of detective in them, I would love to talk to. Thank's Shannon
