I wandered on to your website. I have been trying to locate data regarding ancestors. My grandfather, Edmund Carroll, was born 9/3/1855 to Daniel Carroll and Mary Downling. This birth was recorded in Johnstown, County Kilkenny. I hold copies of birth and baptism records. Edmund immigrated to the USA in 1873 to an unkown port. Edmund was the last of 7 children, the last 2 registered in Johnstown and the first 5 registered in a townland something like Ballycudehy (multiple spellings). Could you direct me to more specific information regarding this Carroll family and also where I could get information regarding my great grandmother Mary Dowling?

This would be very, very terrific.

Excellent site. I have been told that I am Scots Irish. What exactly does that mean? I would be very interested in an article about the Scots Irish Carroll's and why they came to America (and later Tennessee in my case). Thank you again for an interesting site.--TJC

Very interesting website. Lots of useful history linking my family name to others.
I was born in England, but my father was born, and the family seat, is in Limerick. Recently came across part of a poem by O'Heerin mentioning the O'Hehirs and the Dalcassian sect. I would like to see something more if available to you.
Keep up the good work.
